Sasha Mercedes- Singer/Songwriter

Mercedes spent her winter and spring in The Balkans, teaching guitar and songwriting classes at an international school..  "This was an ideal way to get out of my musical slump so to speak..  By working with the kids I was able to share my thoughts on the songwriting process, see what they could come up with lyrically and then show them how to turn their words into a song. A genuine creative experience!" says Mercedees.  "Though I occasionally sat in with an established local band, I was more focused on teaching than performing.  This was a much needed break in which I could focus on new material and figure out what lies ahead.." 

And that includes leaving behind fig and orange trees and the mountains of Macedonia and returning to her northern roots and the big lake.  Look forward to hearing Mercedes live in the Lake Superior region this summer!
